Since settling into her charming Cape Cod–inspired home in 2022, our client knew she wanted to collaborate with Sparrow for its future transformation. We were honored when she reached back out in 2024 to begin the journey. While the classic East Coast architecture—painted shakes, wood windows, wraparound porch, and multiple sets of French doors—set an idyllic exterior, the interiors offered a contrasting, cabin-like rusticity with rough sawn beams, pine tongue-and-groove ceilings, hickory floors and cabinetry, and a river rock fireplace.
Our vision was to infuse the interiors with the quiet elegance and refined comfort reminiscent of a well-loved Cape Cod residence. Instead of replacing the quality hickory kitchen cabinetry, we embraced its profile and carried the door style throughout the home. We expanded the kitchen with a custom pantry and island, while cabinetry and living room bookshelves were refreshed in a soft, creamy palette. The fireplace underwent a transformation, featuring a custom mantel, authentic tongue-and-groove paneling, and white glazed brick tile.
The guest bathroom layout was adjusted with a walk-in shower, large custom vanity, and signature wall paneling. The primary suite was entirely redesigned with a thoughtful new layout with the addition of a tub, bespoke casework, marble and ceramic tile, and an elegant custom vanity and closet wall—resulting in a space rich with sophistication, practicality and comfort.
To complete the transformation, Sparrow curated and installed a complete transitional-style furniture concept for the main living spaces and primary bedroom, ensuring every detail reflected a harmonious blend of tradition and ease. The full scope, including exterior updates, were completed over eleven months, resulting in an eloegant home as timeless as it is inviting.
