The historic home previously on this site was falling apart when the new owners purchased the property. So they took it down to its foundation and redesigned in the same footprint. Initially planning to do the interior design on their own, they called Sparrow months into construction to finesse and rectify a disjointed design and unclarified aesthetic direction thanks to dramatically different styles and tastes between the two homeowners.

With very little time and many parts and pieces in motion or already installed, we set to work designing around existing choices: a framed interior, most of the electrical and plumbing roughed-in, installed black windows, and cabinets and appliances waiting for installation. With these constraints, we finalized all remaining finishes to soften the aesthetic—paint color, millwork design, interior doors, light fixtures, plumbing fixtures and trim, wood flooring, hardware, countertops, furniture and accessories. Still to come are the custom window treatments!

Sparrow’s total time on the project was 18 months from construction through furniture installation.
